How-to: Checkout process

Climate datasets are provided as a complete historical record. The start and end dates are noted in the product’s ‘Specifications’ tab, and all dates and times are in UTC.

These datasets are updated monthly, and the period of available data is noted on each data product. Typically, complete data for the preceding month is available by the last day of the month. The date on which the data product was last updated appears under the title.

If you need more current data, you can obtain data updated daily through this subscription service.

At any time, you can check what is in your cart by clicking the ‘Shopping Cart’ icon in the top-right corner of your screen. Information on what is in your cart will appear on the right side of the screen.

Please check that the location, parameter, and temporal frequency of each data product are correct for your needs. If you discover after downloading the data that you have selected the wrong products, please get in touch.

Please note that there is a limit to the number of data products you can have in your cart. The limit varies by data product and depends on whether the product is customised (for example, SolarView or HIRDS).

We offer a wholesale facility for certain data products. This allows users to download a combined dataset containing multiple stations or parameters for a user-defined period as a single CSV file. Information about the wholesale facility is available here.

If you need a custom data product or licensing arrangements, please submit a request through Data Enquiries.

Once you have finalised your order, please tick the required boxes and take a moment to understand the differences between our commercial and non-commercial licences, including whether they are suitable for your current and future use of the data products you are ordering. You will then be guided through a checkout process similar to those used on other websites.

Once you have completed the checkout process, your data products will be made available for download shortly, and a link will be sent to you by email. Please note that some custom products (for example, SolarView and HIRDS) require calculations or formatting based on customer input and will therefore take longer to process.

You can find information about the products you have previously ordered by selecting ‘My Ordered Products’ from the ‘User Menu’ in the top-right corner of the page. This page shows two key details: the download button for each data product you have ordered and the date until which you can access each product.
