DataHub now provides access to HIRDS datasets 

This change was necessary to clarify license conditions following widespread license violations (non-commercial use only).

This comes with the following changes. 

• Users must create an account (more information here)
• Users must select and agree to license conditions and provide purpose before accessing data (more information here)

Please note that HIRDS was previously offered only under a non‑commercial licence, meaning commercial use of the free data was not permitted. Through DataHub, we are now able to offer straightforward commercial access, including licensing and payment.

HIRDS data for any single point in NZ can be found here. Personal / Public (incl local government) users can use the ‘Non-Commercial’ license at $0 per download. For Commercial users the ‘Commercial Restricted Use’ license applies at $50 per download. Bulk options at reduced fees are available. 

HIRDS gridded data products can be found here. Personal / Public users can use the ‘Non-Commercial’ license, costing $100 per download. While for Commercial users the ‘Commercial Restricted Use’ license must be used, costing $500 per download.
